Professor Tianshu Wang is Associate Professor of Piano at the Capital University Conservatory of Music, and head of the keyboard area. She is also chair of the Piano Department at Shenyang Conservatory of Music in China, where she teaches each summer. Her doctorate is from the University of Arizona. Acclaimed by the press as a “superbly talented pianist” who plays with “prodigious technique and eloquent phrasing”, she has appeared as soloist with orchestra, as recitalist and chamber artist on three continents. Winner of several prestigious competitions, Professor Wang has released multiple CDs in China, where she regularly participates in judging international competitions. Before coming to Capital University, Professor Wang was on the faculty of Sweet Briar College in Virginia.
Date: Monday, January 18, 2010 (Martin Luther King Jr. day)
Time: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Location: Graves Piano & Organ Company
Event: Professor Wang will work with up to six students. Teachers are allowed one student entrant, unless there are open spaces after the deadline. Students may play a piece or movement of their choice. If there are more than six applicants at the deadline, the Chair will choose from the latest applications the students and repertoire that best balances the overall program.
Fees: $25.00 for student participants of OhioMTA members; $50.00 for students of Non-members; auditors attend free.
