WOODWIND WORKSHOPS

Woodwind  Master Class

 

Kathie Stewart will present a Baroque and Irish Flute performance master class for woodwind players. Harpsichord accompaniment will be available. Performers are encouraged to prepare five to ten minutes of music.

Performers Fee:        Free for OhioMTA members and their students; $10 for each non- member performer; auditors attend free

                                           David Robinson, accompanist

 Kathie Stewart has performed in England, Denmark and throughout the United States with such ensembles as the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Cleveland Lyric Opera, the Southwest Michigan Symphony, and the Charleston Symphony.  Currently she is a member of Apollo’s Fire, the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra, and performs throughout the United States.  Active as a player of Irish Flute, she performs with the band Turn the Corner.  She is currently on the staff at Oberlin Conservatory as Harpsichord Tuner and Teacher of Baroque Flute, and has served as a faculty associate of the Oberlin Baroque Performance Institute.

 

David Robinson, pianist, harpsichordist, and organist, has performed with The Early Interval and other early music groups in Columbus.  He has appeared as harpsichordist with the Pro Musica chamber Orchestra of Columbus, The Franklin Consort, and many faculty and student recitals at the Ohio State University and has recorded with Peter Schickele in P.D.Q. Bach:  The Short-Tempered Clavier, on the Telarc label.  Robinson is the organist at Lord of life Lutheran Church in Worthington.
