As one of the most active local districts in Ohio and arguably the country, the Central East District of OhioMTA conducts continuing education workshops for teachers as well as educational and motivational events for students. The Central East District of the Ohio Music Teachers Association (OMTA) is a 501(c)(3) affiliate of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). MTNA was founded in 1876 and is America’s oldest professional music teachers’ organization. MTNA is divided into 51 state organizations. OMTA is divided into nine districts. Our District includes 15 counties: Belmont, Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Guernsey, Knox, Licking, Marion, Monroe, Morrow, Muskingum, Noble, Perry and Pickaway, and Richland. Throughout the United States our membership includes independent music teachers, college faculty members, students and concert artists of all musical instruments and voice.
