The Vice-President for Communications serves as coordinator for a team consisting of the Activities Guide/Directory Chair and the Webmaster. The goal of this team is two-fold: 1) To provide pertinent information about the association and its activities to the membership through the Activities Guide/Directory and the association website; 2) To provide information about the association to the public by placing ads in local newspapers and arts publications, placing our directory in libraries and college music offices, generally making the public aware of the benefits of OMTA activities for music students and potential members.
Publicity Procedures…
The Vice-President for Communications is responsible for submitting all publicity information to the local media. Event chairmen should send all publicity information by e-mail to Lynn Singleton and to the webmaster (addresses below) for website posting.

If anyone would like an item included in the Central East District’s section of the OhioMTA News, please submit it to the webmaster well in advance of the following state deadlines: December 1, 2009 for the January 2010 issue, April 1, 2010 for the May 2010 issue, and August 1, 2010 for the September 2010 issue.

Here’s how it works:
The website consists of “pages” and “posts.” Existing pages contain information found in the Activities Guide (think of it as the pages in a booklet). They are updated regularly with additional timely information, such as winners of competitions, new procedures, and new contact information. Look for additional links that include recent newsletters and minutes from meetings. A good place to start finding this information is under “General Information.”
Chronological posts appear on the homepage of the website, with the most recent first. These include current announcements involving the district, as well as area concert announcements, job listings, instruments for sale, and more! You must subscribe to receive notification of these regular updates and announcements. Subscribing is easy, but you will need to verify by clicking on the link when you get the confirmation email. Just follow the instructions. The Central East District will never sell or share your email address with anyone. If you’d like your name and contact information removed from the directory portion of the website, contact the webmaster at the email address below.
