Season’s Greetings from the Central East District of Ohio MTA!

Central East District member Seymour Fink has been nominated to be the 2010 MTNA Foundation Fellow from Ohio.  Our district is pleased with Seymour’s nomination and proud of his musical accomplishments.

To complete the nomination process, a total of $1,000.00 must be donated to the MTNA Foundation Fund.  Donations total $234.00 as of November 7; the remaining $716.00 must be given by February 1, 2010.

If you are looking for an end of year giving opportunity,  consider making a donation to this worthy cause.  Any monetary amount can be contributed.  Checks need to be made payable to MTNA Foundation Fund, and make sure that Ohio Fellow  is written in the memo line.

Piano Workshop I

David Breitman is the professor in charge of early music at Oberlin College.  He will bring one of his own Fortepianos down for all to hear and examine.  He will play on it, teach on it, and give an historical perspective on the differences with the modern piano, and also what modern players can learn from a familiarity with early instruments.  He is a marvelous musician and a first rate performer and teacher.
This will be a very interesting Piano Workshop.  We’ll see you all on Friday!
