Recital Announcement

Mark Swartzentruber will make his only Ohio appearance on Thursday, June 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High Street, for a benefit classical piano concert for Worthington fellow classmate, Amy Pike, who was killed in an automobile accident at 28 years old.

Mark Swartzentruber graduated from Worthington High School in 1976 and Indiana University, and now lives in London, England, where he has made a career as an internationally-known concert pianist. At Indiana University he studied under John Ogden, Michel Block and Stephen Kovacevich. In London he studied with Maria Curcio, the eminent protege of Artur Schnabel.

He has produced many CD’s, which include Schubert, Schumann, Scarlatti, Beethoven, Haydn & Ogdon.

This benefit event will be held during a week’s long activities prior to the groundbreaking of the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center on Saturday, June 21 st.

You and/or your students are cordially invited to attend this benefit concert.

Ticket prices will be $25 for adults and $10 for students with all proceeds going to a memorial at the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center of Worthington for Amy. Any contribution is fully tax-deductible. There will be a reception after the concert and guests can meet Mark.
