The Buckeye Auditions event is OhioMTA’s premier competition for our most outstanding students.  Each of Ohio’s eight Districts holds a preliminary competition in March/April, leading to the statewide competition in June.  Teachers may only enter students who are currently studying with them and that have studied the performance medium of the audition with the entering teacher a minimum of six (6) months of the nine (9) months immediately preceding the day of the District auditions.  The teacher and the entrant may not be the same individual.  OhioMTA Member Teachers:  Current membership dues for MTNA, OhioMTA and the District must be paid in full before the application deadline.  An MTNA/OhioMTA member with student membership status is not eligible to enter students.  Non-member Teachers:  see fee schedule below.

 Late entries and hand deliveries will NOT be accepted.

Teachers are to proof the student applications and send one check to cover all students entered.

Include student and parent e-mail addresses on applications,  since all communication with students and teachers will be via e-mail where possible.  

      Classification:      Senior  – Ages 15 – 18; Junior – Ages 12 – 14;

                              Elementary – Ages 9 – 11

       Time Limits:        Senior, 9-18 min.; Junior, 6–12 min.; Elementary, 5–10 min.

                   Prizes:      Senior – $200; Junior – $150; Elementary – $100

State Finals application fees for students of OhioMTA members will be paid by the District.  Non-member fees are Senior – $120, Junior – $100, Elementary – $80
